We see the Energy Spot presenter, Jared Turner. He's inside a typical New Zealand home and introduces himself to us by saying:
Hi , my name's Jared Turner, welcome to the first episode of The Energy Spot.
We cut in close as he says:
What uses up more energy: ... driving your car or powering your house?
What uses enough power to run over 55,000 homes a year, but we pretty much get
no benefit from? ...
What does a kitchen sieve and most New Zealand homes have in common?
We cut to see that Jared is now in the living room - he walks through as he says:
Each week, we're going to look into questions like these. And find out ways to use
energy more wisely, without compromising the way we live.
We'll consider energy issues, the choices we make and how they impact on us, our
energy bills, and our country.
For businesses, we'll see how energy management positively effects the bottom line.
Jared is now in the lounge, by a wood burner.
We'll check out different ways of heating from renewable energy l ike wood to
harnessing the sun.
And have some surprising facts on cars and driving that will be useful for everybody.
Jared is now outside in front of the house, he says:
Together we'll create better businesses, warmer healthier homes, and use less
energy doing it....
We pull back as he delivers his last line so that we see more of the street around him:
