Lighting

Choosing the right efficient lighting for the job can give you great looking, functional lighting that uses a lot less energy.

There is an energy efficient option for virtually all your lighting needs - it's simply a matter of getting the right light for the right job.

In this section you can find out about:

Old-style light bulbs waste energy

Only 5% of the electricity used in a traditional incandescent light bulb produces light - the other 95% produces heat.

Lighting makes up around 12% of a typical household electricity bill - that's about $220 per household per year. [1]

Replacing a 100 Watt incandescent bulb with a 20 Watt compact fluorescent bulb can save you at least $100. [2]

More choice than ever before

When it comes to efficient lighting, there are lots of options to choose from. You can have modern, stylish lighting that uses less electricity, lasts longer and is well suited to your needs. These benefits more than outweigh the additional up front costs of efficient bulbs.
