For the most energy efficient whiteware, home electronics, heat pumps, office equipment, and efficient lighting, look for the ENERGY STAR mark.
ENERGY STAR is the global mark of energy efficiency, typically awarded to the top 25% most energy efficient products in a category.
Because not all appliances are created equal, ENERGY STAR makes it easy to find the ones that use less energy and are better for the environment.
Great performance, less energy
There’s no need to sacrifice performance or features to get an energy efficient product. ENERGY STAR products use the latest technology to do the same job, just more efficiently. For example:
- An ENERGY STAR TV is at least 30% more efficient than a non-qualified model
- An ENERGY STAR heat pump could cost $150 a year less to run than other models
- An ENERGY STAR washing machine is 45% more efficient and uses 30 litres of water less per wash.
