Insulation funding

Grants are available for ceiling and underfloor insulation through Warm Up New Zealand: Healthy Homes for rental properties occupied by low-income tenants.

Eligibility The named tenant must have a Community Services Card Named tenant must have a Community Services Card. The programme may also accept referrals from low-income households with health conditions related to cold, damp housing.
Cost Maximum of 50% of the cost of the insulation No charge to tenant
Exclusions Government housing stock because Government agencies insulate their rental properties Government housing stock

Special discounts for insulation

You may be able to get a discount of at least 20% from some service providers if your household is not eligible for insulation funding under the Warm Up New Zealand: Healthy Homes programme.
